Ethernet-based field buses are increasingly used for industrial applications: EtherCAT, Profinet, Industrial Ethernet, and others. Whether there are used for automation equipment communication, servo motor control, or even video camera communication (PoE or not), they are based on the IEEE802.3 norm that defines the copper twisted pair as the main physical media.
In order to provide the right product with the right performance for those applications, we created the E1M (100Base-TX, 2 pairs) and E1G (1000Base-T, 4 pairs) option for the SVTS A Series slip rings. They integrated shielded copper twisted pair up to the rings and brushes with specific materials to offer transmission performances that can be comparable to a standard certified cable.
